So I was looking up the voice actor of Nanaki (who is Ichimura Masachika), and here's what I found at IMDB:

He's the original Phantom from the uber-rare 1988 Tokyo Phantom of the Opera.

Shit. No wonder he was a special appearance, yes? <3
